Man, 23, jailed 3 months after confessing to buying stolen tab in Jos

A man 23-year-old man, Isaac Mali, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment in Jos, Plateau State, after confessing to buying a stolen Samsung galaxy tablet.

An Area Court in Jos on Monday presided over by Mr Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced Mali after he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.

The judge gave the convict an option of N 10,000 fine.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Daniel Ijuptil told the court that the case was reported at the Rantya police station on Feb 2, .

The prosecutor, further told the court that during police investigation the convict confessed to the crime

The offence, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
