Boko Haram terrorists murder Pastor couple in Ibadan

On  15th September, 2022, residents of Omi Adio, Ibadan woke up to a grisly double murder when some gunmen, believed to be Boko Haram terrorists, attacked a moving vehicle and brutally assassinated a couple who until their unfortunate demise were pastors of the Christ Apostolic Church.

An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that the attack which happened in the early hours of the day left residents and passersby in surprise as the reason for the homicide could not be ascertained.

Our correspondent who visited the police station at Police Post, Apata was informed that the deceased had been identified to be Pastor and Pastor (Mrs) Omodiale Anthony. The police claimed that the news of the killing was reported to the station at about 11:30 in the morning by one Mr. Francis Anthony, the son of the deceased.

“We were connected on phone with the deceased son, Mr. Francis Anthony and he confirmed to us that his murdered parents were true servants of God who had always preached against Boko Haram terrorists and bad governance.

“This led to their being trailed and eventually killed by the said terrorists. He further intimated that one of his siblings, Matthew Anthony, who is currently in hiding, is also being tracked by the said terrorists as they believe that he had also been heavily involved the various ministerial activities with his late parents.”

The police said that investigation is still ongoing and that the culprits would certainly be brought to book and made to face the law accordingly.
