Nigerian Institution of Surveyors inducts 16 new Fellows

The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) has inducted 16 Fellows.

This happened during Thursday’s 2023 NIS Fellows Investiture in Abuja, Nigerian Newsdirect reports.

With the inauguration, the number of NIS Fellows  increased to 469.

In his goodwill message, the President of NIS, Surv. (Dr) Kayode Oluwamotemi, urged the new fellows to be good ambassadors of the institution at all times.

Meanwhile, the guest speaker, Chief Hyacinth Maghalu, in a paper titled “The Role of Surveyors and The Advantages of Survey Plan in Land Litigation,” indicated that surveyors are intrinsic to all forms of land dispute resolution.

Maghalu, represented by Barr. Chigbo Okoli, said, “The role of surveyors and the advantages of survey plan in land litigation is critical, strategic and prominent as they form the pivot on which successful land litigation can be achieved within a record time, particularly when the need for the survey plan and the surveyor’s evidence will be instrumental to determining the case.”

The inducted Fellows are Adeoye Julius, Fadahunsi Tunde, Aninam, Sunday, Falaye Feyisara, Olugbemiro Olumide, Adegoke Sunday, Kasim Folasade, Ekundayo Olufemi, Kassim Adekunle, Adeusi Sunday, Ogundare Olukayode, Olufemi Olatunji, Oke Odunayo, Okoeguale Osariemen, Alabi Asaolu, Okeke Onwuegbuchulam.

The Chairman of the Board of Fellows, Surv. (Dr) Sola Atilola, urged the new Fellows to be professional in all their conducts and not bring the name of NIS to disrepute.

Chairman/ CEO   Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa; past Presidents of NIS, and other dignitaries were present.
