Osun PDP Congress: No faction in PDP – Chairman
By Jeleel Olawale
The newly elected chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife Central Local Government chapter, Prince Falabi Nurudeen has debunked insinuation going round that the party is enveloped with crisis after its congress.
The chairman made this known in chat with NewsDirect recently. According to him, there is no crisis in the party especially after its congress. The congress which produced the new executive members of the party was peaceful and devoid of violence.
“There is no faction in Osun PDP since the election of Ademola Adeleke last year. So, PDP is one is Osun. There no division in the party.”
Falabi stressed that the state Governor is a lover of masses and a grassroot politician who knows where the shoe pinches the people. He is peace loving man. He had performed well within the short period he assumed office.
He added: “Anybody that loves the masses must know what to do best and how to it. This is exactly what the Governor is doing. He has been fulfilling his electioneering campaign programmes for Osun people. ”
The party chairman averred that the Governor made welfare of workers first in his five-point agenda because workers are the engine room of governance, noting that Osun is a civil service state in which many relied on civil servants.
“If the civil servants are made to feel happy and part of the system, the state economy will be boosted. And the Governor felt that the civil servants needed to be treated fairly.
“One of the major sources of problem for government is civil servants and if they were not well taken care of, such government would face challenges.
“What the Governor is doing presently for civil servants in the state is a welcome development as this will further boost the state economy. If the workers have their money paid as and when due, they would contribute to the economic development of the state”, Alabi said.
He said the state workers knew what they undergone in the past twelve years ranging from half salary, promotion without cashback, poor welfare condition among others. The Governor understands the fact that government needs workers to succeed, hence the need to improve their welfare.
Speaking on his plan for the party in Ife Central, he noted that the party would be rejuvenated and restructured to take its rightful position. We are taken the party to a high pedestal. Though, there has been differences among members of the party but this has been a thing of the past.
He said the judgement of the supreme court which affirmed the victory of governor Ademola Adeleke is an indication that he is a people governor voted for in July 22 Governorship election in the state, stressing that he had predicted the victory of Ademola Adeleke in Tuesday judgement of supreme court.
He described the party as indivisible family, urging Osun people to continue to support PDP to continue enjoying dividends of democracy.
