Do your best to serve the nation – GOC Oluyede charges officers and soldiers of 2 Brigade in Akwa Ibom

The General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, Maj – Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has charged officers and soldiers of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army in Akwa Ibom to do their best in serving the nation.
GOC Oluyede gave the order during the inauguration of projects at their Mbiokporo Cantonment, Headquarters of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army at Mbiokporo in Nsit Ibom LGA on Thursday.
The officer, while inaugurating the projects commended the Commander 2 brigade, Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, for ensuring the completion of the projects adding that, it would add value and improve on the welfare of soldiers.
According to the GOC, “I want to enjoin you all to continue to give your best in the discharge of your duties.
“It is therefore, my fervent prayers that this project inaugurated today will profer enduring solutions towards adding impetus and ensuring continuity in the rejuvenated Nigerian Army transformation process”.
He added that, the commander has made judicious use of the resources allocated to the Brigade by constructing those projects inaugurated within one year.
“I am delighted to be in this memorable occasion. You know it is always good for those in position of authority to add value to their constituency.
“When we came here last year, there was only one building in this place but Wase has done well. Some, if you give them the money, they will pocket it. It’s always good, we celebrate those who have done well, so, Wase well done.
“You have shown good enthusiasm to a given task and the result is what we have witnessed today and I also want to use this opportunity to commend officers and soldiers of 2 Brigade for their support and good working relationship which has led to the completion of these projects in my tenure as the GOC,” he said.
Oluyede also commended the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari for the transformation given to the army over the years.
Also, the Commander 2 Brigade, Wase said the transformational efforts by the Brigade and the Nigerian Army, would greatly enhance the welfare and operational capabilities of troops of 2 Brigade.
Wase said the projects executed and completed for inauguration were the “Remodelled Quarter Guard, Military Police Duty Room, the Regimental Sergeant Majors’ Office and the Brigade Sick Bay”.
He commended the warm hospitality of the host community and the people of Akwa Ibom for the cordial relationship that exists between the state and the army.
Highpoint of the event was the tree planting by the GOC and Heads of Security agencies in the state.
