Suspected hoodlums with firearms arrested in Osogbo 

The Western Security Net work Agency, Amotekun Osun, has arrested two suspects who are notorious for unleashing terror attacks on inhabitants of Ita-Olokan area of Osogbo.

The security outfit also disclosed that the duo, 27-year-old Afeez Olaniyan and 23-year-old Ismail Wahab, who were nabbed after a tip-off by residents of the area were also in possession of a locally-made pistol.

Confirming their arrests in Osogbo to journalists on Wednesday, the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier-General Bashir Adewinmbi stated that the security outfit swung into action immediately and got them arrested.

Adewinmbi explained that the suspected hoodlums were arrested by the operatives for terrorising the residents of Ita-Olokan area, Osogbo, and its environs.

“The suspected hoodlums were arrested on Wednesday after receiving a distress call from the residents of the area on the activities of the suspects unleashing attack on the residents of Ita-Olokan Osogbo and its environs.

“Our operatives swung into action instantly after the complaint was made and the culprits were arrested and a locally made pistol gun was found on them at the time of their arrest.

“Upon investigation, they confessed to committing the act and using the firearm to protect themselves,” Adewinmbi affirmed.

Adewinmbi added that the suspects have been handed over to the police for subsequent investigation and interrogation
