Court remands teenager for allegedly stealing two motorcycles

An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday remanded a 19-year old boy, Opeyemi Pelumi, for alleged theft of Bajaj motorcycles.

The prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 9 at the Iron and Steel Rolling Company, Ibadan Road, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the defendant stole one unregistered red Bajaj motorcycle valued N250,000, property of one Babalola Ayodeji.

He added that the defendant on March 16, at the Ile-Ife Iron and Steel company, stole one unregistered red Bajaj motorcycle valued N55,000, property of one Babawale Sunday.

According to him, the offences contravene the Criminal Code, Law of Osun, 2002.

The defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of stealing.

Magistrate Abosede Sarumi ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Custody, Ile-Ife.

Sarumi adjourned the case until March 27, for presentation of fact.
