…says Ndi-Anambra shouldn’t Elect Inexperienced persons

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Idemili-North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka has joined his voice with numerous other well-meaning Ndi-Anambra to emphasise the dire need for Governor Charles Soludo to have an APGA majority in the incoming legislature.
Nkwoka who spoke exclusively with our correspondent in Awka on Tuesday, also stressed that sentiments apart, there was absolutely no need for Ndi-Anambra to elect mediocres and inexperienced persons who have little or nothing to offer during legislative discussions.
He said Ndi-Anambra have voted for Peter Obi at the presidential election and that the March 18th House of Assembly elections is “where the people will prove that indeed Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra.”
Nkwoka explained that all APGA candidates for the House of Assembly elections have been tested and trusted and they have also proved their mettle in legislative and constituency representation.
Nkwoka said lawmaking is a serious business and that somebody who can not express himself grammatically can not add any value to legislative proceedings in the House of Assembly.
He said alot of characters found their ways to the national assembly through the Peter Obi syndrome but the forthcoming House of Assembly elections according to him, is a local election where Anambra citizens will elect people with credible experience and knowledge for such onerous task, adding that APGA has the requisite candidates for the House of Assembly.
Nkwoka stated that even though he does not envisage a rubber stamp legislature of APGA members only, he opined that other opposition parties could make do with 5 slots while APGA takes 25 slots for a more vibrant and proactive legislature.
He said the essence was for peace and harmony in the State, so that opposition parties will not clinch on majority seats to antagonise the government as well as raise motions for impeachment, which he said is synonymous with Nigerian politics.
Nkwoka said, “In 2019 we witnessed the raging storm of the PDP and eventually when that was over, we got back to the House of Assembly elections and APGA had 24 out of 30 seats. So it is not new to us. The typical home for APGA is Anambra state.
“The Obedient game that played out at the presidential election was a push for a change in governance and a push for the igboman to get closer to the centre. Same thing happened in 2019 and this time around, there was more force to get to the centre, that was why we saw that wave. The Labour wave on the 25th of February. That wave is over !
“The House of Assembly election is no longer a national election. It is now a local election. I tell you, APGA will take the day and we are so certain of it. We have the structure and we have everything to get it done.
“APGA has been taking the day since 2006 that Mr. Peter Obi took the mantle of leadership in Anambra state. We have a Governor that will be here for the next three years and we won’t elect opposition parties to come and start disturbing him with impeachment threats.”
