EEDC opens up on loss of power supply in Imo

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has notified its customers under Imo State about the loss of power supply being experienced in the State.

The notification is in a statement issued Friday by the EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communication, Emeka Ezeh.

Ezeh said the disruption was a result of the industrial action embarked on by the organised labour union in the State, leading to the shutting down of the source of power supply.

He said customers in Imo State would be without electricity supply while appealing to EEDC customers to be vigilant and guard against attack by vandals on the organisation’s facilities.

The statement partly read: “The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State that the loss of supply currently being experienced is a result of the industrial action by the organised labour union in Imo State. This led to the shutting down of our source of supply, leaving us with no energy to distribute.

“As a result, all our customers in Imo State are without electricity supply.

“We understand the inconveniences this situation will cause our customers, and we are hopeful that the issue will be resolved within the shortest possible time so we can restore supply to our customers.”
