Oyo REC has confirmed that INEC secures cash from CBN to conduct poll

Dr Rahmon Adeniran Tella, Resident Electoral Commission (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that the commission has secured provision of cash from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to ease movement of electoral materials ,adhoc staffs and other logistics to different polling units in the state.

The REC made it known during a Guest Forum organized by Oyo state correspondents’ chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state tagged “Speak out” that parties of the measures put in place to address the security challenges was the identification of security personnel through the use of tag, banning of politicians moving with security agencies.

He disclosed that the commission was ready to conduct free and fair elections across the state despite the scarcity of cash.

The REC said that, the sensitive materials would be distributed by Friday in the presence of security agencies, media, and political parties.

He made it known that a total of 2,305,903 electorates are expected to vote in the forth coming general election.

According to him, Oyo state has a total of 3,276,675 registered voters but only 2,305,903 PVC have been be collected.

Tella said the military personnel that would be deployed for the election would ensure that all neighbouring states that share border with the state are manned fully to prevent influx of political things and suspected criminals

He called in all eligible voters to come out and vote for candidates of their choice during the elections
