EPL: Come to Emirates – Piers Morgan begs World Cup star to join Arsenal
British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, has urged England World Cup star, Declan Rice to join Arsenal amid interest from Chelsea.
Morgan believes Rice, who currently plays for West Ham United, would be a useful reinforcement in the ranks at Arsenal.
He said he loves the England international, adding that he is what the Gunners need.
Arsenal recently missed out on their priority target, Mykhaylo Mudryk, after Chelsea hijacked the 22-year-old winger from Shakhtar Donetsk for £89 million.
Mikel Arteta’s side has now turned their attention towards Rice, who has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time.
“If we want to win the league, we have got to get serious in this market now and bolster the reserves both in midfield and upfront. I love Declan Rice. I have had this conversation with him on Twitter where I have begged him to come before. I think he is exactly what we need,” Morgan told talkSPORT.
“I think that when Arsenal have our first XI starting, including Xhaka and Partey, we look really strong, but if one of those two gets injured, I think we need another big midfield enforcer who can also play a role in attack too.
“Rice can do everything and he is got that right mentality, the right attitude, I think he is very much an Arteta-style player and I think he would fit absolutely perfectly into our squad. So, Declan, come on, I know you are listening, Declan – come, come to the Emirates! Come and be loved!”
