Transfer: Very strange – Wesley Sneijder questions Manchester United over Weghorst

Inter Milan hero, Wesley Sneijder, has questioned Manchester United’s move for Wout Weghorst, describing it as very strange.
Sneijder is not convinced Weghorst is good enough for Man United.
Weghorst, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Burnley, has emerged as a shock target for Man United this January transfer window.
The 30-year-old has enjoyed an excellent campaign on loan at Besiktas, though the Turkish club are reluctant to release him from his contract so he can move to Man United.
Asked about Weghorst’s potential move to Man United on the Dutch football show Veronica Offside, Sneijder responded: “Surely not! I would find that very strange.
“Maybe they have seen the trick with the free-kick [in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Argentina], but I don’t think they fall for that in England anymore!
“In terms of a striker, is he really someone United are waiting for? I don’t think so.”
