MSSN Vacation: AbdulRazaq urges national growth, development

Gov. Abdul Rahman AbdulRazq of Kwara on Saturday in Ilorin urged all religious adherents to promote healthy debate on diversity, national growth and development.

AbdulRazq made the call in his message at the opening ceremony of the 79th National Islamic Vacation Course (IVC) programme organised by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), comprising the 19 Northern States and Abuja.

The Governor underscored the need for concerted efforts by all the religious groups to ensure national unity.

He urged all religious faithful to sustain the teachings and tenets of their religions to ensure peaceful coexistence.

He also appealed to parents and other stakeholders to collectively address the decadence and near collapse of morality among youths.

In his keynote address, former Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, urged the youths to continue to live up to their expectations in spite all odds.

He reminded Muslims of the need to be steadfast and contribute to the development of Islam and humanity as a whole.

In his remark, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, represented by the Balogun Gambari, Alhaji Aliyu Adebayo, advised youths to use the period of the training to learn good things that would benefit them and the society.

Earlier, Malam Muhammed Bin Isa, the Chairman “A” Zone of the MSSN, commended the Federal and Kwara Governments for introducing numerous youths inclusive programmes.

He said the idea would reduce the problem of youths restiveness to the minimum.

Isa also advised the youths not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery in the 2023 general elections.

Justice Idris Haroon, the Chairman Council of Hosting fathers and mentors for the 79th National Islamic Vacation Course,Justice Idris Haroon said the training would make the youths good leaders.

He urged parents and guardians to encourage their wards to play active role in programmes that would promote peace and development.

The  79th National IVC hosted by the ‘A’ Zone of the MSSN attracted 4,000 youth participants across the 19th states and Abuja.
