The Director of Operations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Osun State chapter, Hon. Sunday Akere has cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke not to introduce politics to the affairs of traditional institutions in the State, saying every town in Yoruba lands has its traditions and chieftaincy declarations.

It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke in his Executive Order during his inauguration ordered three monarchs to vacate the Palace and asked security operatives to take over the Palaces, including Akinrun of Ikinrun Oba Yinusa Akadiri; Aree of Ire Oba Ademola Oluponle and Owa of Igbajo, Oba Gboyega Famous.

The former Special Adviser on Political matters to immediate past Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, advised governor Adeleke not to allow himself and his administration to be pushed by some people to dethrone monarchs in the state.

Akere disclosed over the weekend in Osogbo, Osun State Capital, charged the governor to leave affairs of traditional institutions for the king makers.

According to him, “This is not the first time that would be a change of governments in 2003 when Chief Bisi Akande was about to leave office, he installed Orangun of Ila
four days before the expiration of his tenure and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola took over he never said they should go and lock the palace of Orangun of Ila or remove him.

“The government is a continuum of what the governor has done and what could not finish you as new Governor will continue from there not that you will come back and start playing politics with everything.

“And you cannot say because a prince is a politician is not entitled to the stool of his forefathers. Does it only three Obas that administration of Governor oyetola installed between July 17 and November 2023 it is all politics.

“The issues are clear the government should know that whether good or bad, the fallback effects will be on the government they should not allow themselves to be pushed.” he said
