Nigeria sets to host ‘Doctors for Change’ conference in Lagos
Dr. Biodun Ogungbo, a Consultant Neurosurgeon with Brain and Spine Surgery Consortium Abuja on Wednesday said plans are underway to hold ‘Doctors for Change’, a conference to boost healthcare delivery in country.
Ogungbo, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja ahead of the Conference, scheduled for Nov. 19, in Lagos.
He said the event would be an opportunity for all Doctors for Change members to come together for more strategic engagements in the Nigerian healthcare space.
“DFC members are of course, doctors, specialists, Chief Medical Directors, and the owners of private hospitals/health facilities in Nigeria and the Diaspora.
” All are medical practitioners who have either returned fully to Nigeria, partly or still contemplating practice in Nigeria.
” These doctors along with their counterparts in Nigeria are contributing to the health care industry in Nigeria, “he said.
Ogungbo said during the COVID years, DFC raised money to procure hundreds of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
He said the PPE were distributed to hospitals across the nation to support the efforts of government.
” Individually and through strategic collaborations, we are improving the quality of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
” We are desirous of building long-lasting relationships and so invite everyone to be part of our historic first conference in Lagos,” Ogungbo said.
