2023: Olota, Awori Obas endorse Abiodun, Tinubu, Sen Adeola, others

The Olota of Ota, Oba (Professor) Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, on Sunday, led other 40 Awori Obas to endorse the presidential aspirations of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Gov Dapo Abiodun’s second term ambition as well as the desire of Senator Solomon Adeola fondly called Yayi to represent Ogun West senatorial district in 2023.

The Awori Royal fathers gave the pledge to support these candidates when Senator Solomon Adeola, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Finance paid a consultative courtesy call on the Olota, Awori Obas and other stakeholders at the Palace of Olota in Ota.

The Awori foremost monarch said based on the antecedent of Asiwaju Tinubu, the scintillating performance of Prince Abiodun in his first term as well as the exemplary scorecards of Senator Adeola in Lagos West Senatorial district and parts of Ogun West, all of them will be supported by the voters in his densely populated domain adding that he was full of expectation that they will fulfil their promises to the people when elected.

The Olota called for unity among the major groups of Yewa and Awori in Ogun West as a veritable way of clinching the governorship seat in Ogun State in no distant future stressing that with unity other parts of the state will court them seriously in view of their massive voting power.

“I want to call on Senator Adeola to replicate what he had done in terms of attracting development in Lagos West and Yewaland in Aworiland. I have noted that some projects have been earmarked for Aworiland and I look forward to their implementation” the royal father stated.

Olota also used the occasion to appeal for the creation of Awori Traditional Council in Ogun West Senatorial District stressing that its creation will engender development not only in his domain but across the state.

Earlier, Senator Adeola said he was only on consultation visit to the royal fathers as he is yet to start his campaign in compliance with the state’s  APC directive to await the harmonisation of the campaign timetable of the Presidential and State Campaign Councils.

” I want to thank our royal fathers for supporting the incumbent government of Prince Abiodun for his developmental strides. Among all the qualified contestants for Senatorial seat in Ogun West, I am the most experienced with performance antecedent and I will bring much development as a representative of Ogun West as I have done in Lagos West and Lagos State over the years ” he stated.

He said between now and December, 1000 indigenes and residents of Ado Odo Ota will be trained and empowered with equipment in various vocational skills adding that two major road construction in Aworiland is being facilitated by him soon.

He called for support for Asiwaju Tinubu as well as Prince Abiodun in the 2023 election stating that among presidential contestants only Tinubu has performance record that had stood the test of time as well as building human resources to the highest levels in Nigeria.

” We have the record of Asiwaju in Lagos and we also have the records of the person that was Vice President for 8 years and that of a governor whose state regularly experience stay at home lockdown. They are free to march in Lagos courtesy of the good governance set in place since the tenure of Asiwaju but we know the situation in their states” Adeola stated.

The courtesy visit had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako- Oyedele, Senator Kola Bajomo, former ICAN President, Senator Akin Odunsi and a host of dignitaries from Ogun West Senatorial District.
