29-year-old man in court over alleged burglary in Osun

A 29-year old man, Faleti Ayomide, was on Monday arraigned at an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court over an alleged burglary and intent to steal.

Ayomide, who is facing a two-count charge of burglary and intent to steal, had pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences.

The Police Prosecutor, SP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug. 26, at about 10:00 p.m. at Halleluyah Estate, Osogbo.

Fagboyinbo said the defendant broke into the apartment of one Jafia Emmanuel at an odd hour of the day for unjust reasons, before he was apprehended.

He said the offense contravened the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The Magistrate, Dr Olusegun Ayilara, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 and one surety in like sum.

Ayilara said the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court, with evidence of tax payments and must provide affidavit of means and passport sized photographs.
