A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) transition committee set up by the Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Hon Dipo Eluwole has berated the outgoing government of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola of lack cooperation with the committee for peaceful transition of power in November 27, 2022.
Hon. Eluwole made this known in an interview with Nigerian NewsDirect.
He accused the government of clandestine agenda in an attempt to derail the incoming PDP administration in the state.
According to him, “The way the outgoing government is behaving is worrisome, there has not been cordial relationship. We were not given breathing space to interface with the government.
“We thought there should be mutual understanding between the outgoing and incoming government especially in a developed countries for seamless transition of power but the government did not allow this to happen”.

“The government refused to receive a letter sent to it on the need to inform it of our committee and interface with us. They don’t want us to function.
“We will operate since we have not halt the government in any form or done what could affect the smooth running of the present administration. Their actions suggest sinister move to derail the incoming PDP government.
“Their attitude will not affect the work of the committee because the committee comprised experts and technocrats in different fields. They don’t give us space to operate and we will continue to watch. But what we expect is that they should extend hands of friendship to us and what meet is otherwise”.
Speaking on the term of reference given to the committee, Eluwole said that the committee was tasked with are common things under a presidential system of government and to interface with the outgoing government.
He added that the Governor-elect has his five-point agenda but mandated the committee to break it into smaller unit that will be achievable within short time and the committee is an advisory committee. Senator Ademola Adeleke has his own blueprint.
Reacting to the news of proposed conduct of Local Government election, the former Osun Assembly member described the plan as illegal and unconstitutional, saying it is in contravention of 2022 Electoral act.
“We have informed them of the planned illegality and if they do, it will not stand the test of time. Nobody will participate in such illegality and PDP is watching them. We will challenge it in court if OSSIEC conducts the election.”
