Stock market close slightly by 0.01% on Thursday

Stock market on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), which has been closing on negative performance since the opening of the week for three consecutive sessions closed slightly yesterday on positive performance due to a bit turn up impacted in medium and large capitalised stocks, such as Academy Press, Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), Ftncocoa and others.

Really, the All-Share Index increased just a bit to 7.19 points representing 0.01 per cent to close trade at 51,563.73 index points.

Meanwhile, Market capitalisation value gained N11 billion to close trade at N27.806 trillion.

Market sentiments was positive as 16 stocks dominate the gainers against 10 stocks that dominate the losers

The total traded volume in yesterday trading was 143,288,221 million units valued by N1.756 billion exchanged in 3,874 deals

NGX ASI BEST ADVANCERS

Academy Press emerged as the most gainer yesterday which appreciated by 9.55 per cent to close at N1.72 per share, followed by Nigerian Aviation Handling Company rose by 0.80 kobo increased to close trade at N9.30 per share.

Ftncocoa which recorded as the best third gainer grew by 0.03 kobo or 9.38 per cent increased to close trade at N0.35 per share, Honey Flour went up by 0.23 kobo or 8.39 per cent increased to close trade at N2.97 per share and Ikejahotel gained 8.20 per cent or 0.10 kobo to close at N1.32 per share.

NGX ASI MOST DECLINERS

On the decliners chart, Rt.briscoe  led the losers chart with 8.11 per cent to close at N34 per share, as UPDC which recorded as second most loser dropped by 0.10 kobo to close trade at N1.17 per share.

Regalins and Japaulgold dipped by 0.02 kobo each  to close trade at N0.25 per share each and First Bank Holding of Nigeria which recorded as the last fifth decliner depreciated by 3.20 per cent or 0.35 kobo to close trade at N10.60 per share.

Transaction in share of Jaiz Bank led the activity chart with 42.104 million shares worth 36.607 million, Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) accounted 19.450 million shares valued at N396.760 million, while Sterling bank sold 9.413 million shares worth N14.080 million.

United Bank of Africa traded 8.868 million shares worth N51.369 million and Nigerian Aviation Handling Company transacted 5.175 million shares valued at N46.140 million.

Jaiz Bank led in terms of volume while Guaranty Trust Holding Company led value chart.
