Army seeks support of retired personnel in addressing insecurity in Nigeria
The Nigerian Army has announced plans to engage the services of its retired personnel.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, made the disclosure Tuesday night.
Yahaya spoke at a Regimented Dinner organized for the 2021 set of retired officers from 3 Division in Rukuba near Jos, Plateau State.
He was represented by Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, 3 Division General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH).
Yahaya thanked the retired personnel for sacrifices to the nation and commitment to duty while in service.
The COAS informed them that their expertise would be needed as the Army battles to end insecurity in Nigeria.
”There are ongoing efforts to engage the services of the retired professionals with wealth of experiences.
”These experiences are necessary toward tackling all forms of insecurity in our nation”, Yahaya said.
