Biennial Branch Convention: CDHR Ogun elects new executives

Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Ogun State Branch, during its 2022 Biennial Branch Convention held at her permanent site, Magbon, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Saturday, May 21, 2022 elected new executives.

The Convention themed ‘Election and Governance in Nigeria; The Role of the Civil Society’ held on Saturday 21st May, 2022. National representatives, State Executives and the distinguished Delegates from all units participated.

Guest speaker and National Executive Committee, NEC representative, Comrade Folarin Yinka, who is the National General Secretary, harped on the worsening insecurity in the country and roles to be played in Election and Governance in Nigeria by activists.

The newly elected State Branch Executives include Comrade Tiamiyu Mustapha unopposed as the State Chairman for the next two years; Comrade Shokunbi Sunday as the Vice Chairman; Comrade Ali Adeshina, State Secretary; and Comrade Oladapo Salami, Assistance Secretary.

Others are Comrade Kazeem Hammed, State Treasurer; Comrade Fabiyi Oluremi Jamiu, State Publicity Secretary; and Comrade Wasinuola John was elected State Internal Auditor.

Automatic Branch Executive Committee members include the immediate past Chairman, Comrade Shoyombo Sunday and immediate past Secretary, Comrade Onifade Fumbi. Several Units were dulu represented and the members delighted over the election outcome.

The newly elected Branch Executive Committee, headed by Comrade Mustapha Tiamiyu, solicited the support of leaders, unit executives as well as members both at the State and National levels.
