NOA director tasks FRSC officers on honesty, effective service
The Lagos State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Waheed Ishola, has charged officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to always discharge their duties with honesty.
Ishola gave the charge during the second quarter of 2022 Zone RS2 Retreat with the theme: “Towards Improving Productivity and Customers Satisfaction in FRSC,” held in Lagos on Thursday.
He advised FRSC officers to endeavour to do what was right at all times and avoid unethical practices.
Ishola said that officers should function according to the basic operational structures and norms in order to meet the high professional standards expected of them.
The NOA director said that there was need for total commitment to ensure that customers were satisfied during and after their encounters with the corps.
He advised officers and operatives of the corps to wake up to the realities of effective and efficient service delivery.
In his keynote address, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Lagos State, Assistant Corps Marshal Peter Kibo, urged officers of the zone to use the retreat to critique their past operations in order to strategise for improvement.
Kibo commended the planning committee for choosing the topic as well as inviting the best resource persons.
He said that good attitude was very important in workplaces, as it affected productivity positively or negatively.
The Assistant Corps Marshal, therefore, said that officers’ attitude should be in line with the ethics of their workplace.
In his opening remarks, Lagos Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, urged the officers to use the retreat to improve on their performance.
Ogungbemide said that the retreat had helped the officers of Lagos Zone to consistently take the lead amongst other zones across the country in the last five years.
He said that the retreat was to reflect on what they could do, what they were doing and how they could do it better.
The Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar, said the retreat would have positive impact on attitudinal change of the personnel towards their client.
He said that this would have positive effect on their operations.
The Officer in Charge of Isolo, FRSC, Mrs Ofure Iheanacho, the retreat had reawakened her consciousness to improve on enforcement and services to the public.
The Zonal Coordinator of Special Marshals, Pastor Olushola Olojede, said the retreat had given both officers and special marshals opportunities to reflect on their previous operations towards their clients.
He said it would help them to improve positively for the sake of humanity.
