Equities market closes flat by 0.13 per cent

The stock market on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed flat yesterday on a positive note, as market price was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalised stocks amongst which are Meyers, Mansard, and others, as market capitalisation still remained 33 billion.

All Shares Index inched by 61 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.13 per cent to close at 46,965.48 index points, while the overall market capitalisation value gained to close trade at N25.311trillion.

Yesterday, the total trade volume increased by 27 per cent from 201,280,147million units it closed trade on Wednesday to 256,020,806million units it closed yesterday, valued at N3.660 billions exchange in 4,227 deals.

NGX ASI BEST GAINERS

On the price movement chart Cadbury emerged as the highest price gainer which grew by 0.06 kobo representing 10 per cent increase to close trade at N0.66 per cent, Mansard followed as the second best gainer which appreciated by 0.21 kobo to represent 9.72 per cent increased to close trade at N2.37 per share, First Bank Holdings Company followed with gain of 6.90 per cent or 0.80 kobo increased to close trade at N2.40 per share and COURTVILLE BUSINESS SOLUTION rose by 0.03 kobo representing 5.60 per cent increased to close trade at N0.56 per share. OKOMU OIL recorded as the last fifth gainer appreciated by 4.32 per cent or 6.20 kobo increased to close at N149.70 per share.

NGX ASI TOP LOSERS

NNFM was the highest price loser which dropped by 10 per cent or 1 kobo to close trade at N9 per share. NEIMETH PHARMACEUTICAL PLC recorded as the second best loser which declined by 9.55 per cent or 0.15 kobo to close trade at N1.42 per share, BERGER was the third best loser which dipped by 9.33 per cent or 0.70 kobo to close trade at N6.80 per share, RTBRISCOE depreciated by 0.06 kobo to represent 9.23 per cent to close trade at N0.59 per share and NB which recorded as the last fifth loser down by 4.05 kobo representing 9.10 per cent to close trade at N40.45 per share.

On activities chart, Transaction of Fidelity Bank led as the highest which traded 77.344 million shares worth N242.266 million. UACN accompanied which transacted 16.954 million shares valued at N16.954millions.

Chams traded 15.453 million shares worth N3.218 million, while Zenith Bank transacted 15.246 million shares valued N343.360 millions. ACCESSCORP make transaction of 15.229million shares worth N149.850 millions.
