Equities market drops by 0.11 per cent

Nigerian exchange limited (NGX) closed transactions for the second day negative amidst sell-offs and buy-interests as the benchmark All Shares Index (ASI) depreciated by 50.77 absolute points.

Similarly, NGX ASI recorded drop of 50.77 basis points to represent 0.11 per cent to close at 46,843.09 basis points from 46,893.86 basis points it closed trading on Monday.

From the data of NGX,the overall market capitalisation lost 27 billion from 25.273 trillion it closed for previous trading day to 25.245 trillion it closed trading yesterday.

The total trade volume for the second trading day of the week declined by 60 per cent from 359,890,155 million units it closed for trading on Monday to 214,327,583 million units it closed the trading yesterday.

On the price movement chart,PZ CUSSION was the highest price gainer which grew by 9.80 per cent or 1.00 kobo increased to close at N11.20 per share.

JAPAULGOLD followed as the second best gainer which appreciated by )9.68 per cent or 0.03 kobo increased to close at N0.34 per share. First City Monument Bank rose by 9.32 per cent or 0.28 kobo increased to close at N3.40 per share ,while Chiplc gained 0.03 kobo representing 4.92 per cent increased to close by N0.64 per share and NPFMCRFBK which recorded as the last fifth gainer increased by 0.09 kobo to represent 3.81 per cent increased to close at N2.45 per share.

On the losers table, International breweries led as the most loser which down by 0.50 kobo  representing  10.00 per cent to close at N4.50 per shares, VERITASKAP followed with a decline of 0.02 kobo representing 8.70 per cent to close at N0.21 per share, FTNCOCOA depreciated by 5.71 per cent or 0.02 kobo to close at N0.33 per share, Fidelity bank was recorded as the last fourth loser which dipped by 4.88 per cent or 0.16 kobo to close at N3.17 per share and Chams dropped by 0.01 kobo representing 4.76 per cent to close at N0.20 per share.

On the activity chart,CHAMS topped  table as the best trader which transacted 30.403 million shares worth 6.082 millions.  Accompanied by ACCESSCORP which traded 30.295 million shares valued at 305.509 millions, While TRANSCORP which recorded as the third best trader transacted 20.506 million shares valued at 20.435 million.

FIRST BANK HOLDING NIGERIA traded 18.516 million shares worth 216.382 million and ETRANZACT which recorded as the fifth best gainer traded 13.084 million shares worth 34.675 millions.
