Ogun 2023: Adebutu picks PDP governorship nomination form

Hon Oladipupo Adebutu on Thursday, at Abuja, picked the governorship nomination form of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, the immediate past federal lawmaker representing Remo Federal constituency is eyeing Ogun State governorship seat come 2023. He is said to be first aspirant under the party across the country to purchase expression form ahead of next year election

According to statement from his Media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, Adebutu was said to have picked the governorship nomination form following the decisions reached at the end of 95th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party held on Wednesday at its National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja which included commencement of sales of nomination forms to interested aspirants in the party.

The statement said the decision by Hon Adebutu to express gubernatorial interest and obtain the nomination form was a collective decision by all the party stakeholders, leaders and followers in Ogun PDP and that was the reason why all the leaders from Ogun State were in Abuja to jointly obtain the nomination form with the former lawmaker.

The statement said further that “the journey to liberate the people of Ogun State and deliver the state from the shackles of APC has formally started today”.

Adebutu is said to be the first aspirant in Nigeria under the Peoples Democratic Party to make payment for the expression of interest and purchase the nomination form with the receipt number 0001 and form number 0001.

The historic moment was said to have been witnessed by members of Ogun State Elders Council of PDP led by Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi, the State Executive members and leaders led by the State Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, some notable aspirants for other elective positions in the State which include Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole, Barr. Taiwo Shotte, Asiwaju Toyin Amuzu, Mr. Lukman Adeleye among others.
