Oyetola’s accountability attracting support of development partners — Budget Commissioner
…As Osun commissions crisis alert center supported by UNDP/Norwegian Govt

Osun Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa, has revealed that the State Government of Osun has continued to enjoy the support of Development Partners because of the transparent and accountable nature of the present administration.
The Commissioner said this while giving a remark at the commissioning of a crisis alert center, “Early Warning and Early Response System” (EWERS) by the State Government through the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Norwegian government.
He said the UNDP and other development have found Osun comfortable to work with because they have seen in the Governor a sincererity of purpose and the determination to put smiles on the faces of the masses.
Yinusa stressed that there are a lot of states waiting and begging to enjoy the support of development partners, stressing that it is not automatic for them to support a state, but based on the zeal of the Governor of a state to sincerely want to help his people.
He, however, said that Development Partners have been comfortable to partner with Osun over the years because they know that Governor Oyetola is passionate and determined to get his people out of the level of underdevelopment.
He said, “It must be clearly stated that all the support we are getting from development partners is not automatic and it is not a must that they must come here. There are very many states of the federation begging and looking for their support.
“Development Partners have been willing and comfortable to work with us in Osun because they know that we are accountable and they have seen for themselves that we have a Governor who is determined and passionate about the development of the people.”
Also speaking at the programme the Norwegian Trade Councillor, Mr Hans Peter Christopherson, commended the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for being sincere and committed to the growth and development of the state.
He described security as very important if any government is determined to develop it’s society, stressing that the present administration in the state has shown courage and determination to improve the security architecture of the state.
