NMDPRA assures steady fuel supply in Bauchi
The Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), on Friday, allayed fears over fuel scarcity, assuring steady supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Bauchi State.
Malam Abdullahi Iliyasu, the Operation Controller of the agency, gave the assurance in an interview.
Iliyasu said the agency recently recieved 22 trucks of PMS otherwise called petrol and distributed it to fuel servicing stations across the state.
He, however, said that the agency discovered three of the 22 trucks were adulterated, adding that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had increased supply to enhnace availability of the product across the country.
Iliyasu said that authorities were working round the clock to ensure uninterrupted supply of the product.
The Controller said the agency had scaled up monitoring activities, warning that it would not condone sale and consumption of adulterated petrol.
Illyasu urged motorists to report suspected cases of fuel contamination to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
He further warned fuel attendants against dispensing fuel in kegs and gallons, stressing that defaulters would be sanctioned.
