Spectra Industries MD, Durodola Kuteyi bags OAU Distinguished Alumni Award

The Chief Executive Officer of the Spectra Industries Ltd, Engr. Omolewa Durodola Kuteyi has received Distinguished Alumni Award from the Faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Kuteyi was awarded on Monday at the 2022 Faculty of Technology Conference held at Africa Center of Excellence in ICT, OAU, alongside with former Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof Bello Raman, first female Civil Engineering student ‘OAU,’ Engr. Esther Abhiechome Okongha among others.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chief Executive Officer of the Spectra Industries Ltd, Engr. Omolewa Durodola Kuteyi charged the school management to intensify efforts in orientating the students on entrepreneur aspect of what they study.

Kuteyi enjoined the students of the institution to make use of their professionalism to be a self independent and employers after their studentship for the growth of the economic of Nigeria .

He said, “There are a lot of people in food processing who did not even study Food Science and Technology. I’m always saying that if non-food professionals can establish food industry, all the people that studied food science, all the students that are coming out of Food Science and Tech, should take it upon themselves to go out there and establish something.

“They will succeed and they will surprise those who are there but did not have the basic knowledge of Food Science.

“In the faculty of technology we have a lot of engineering students, the Foodtech, the chemical agric, like people in agric engineering by now they should be collaborating with people in the food tech in order to make food machines.

He, however, commended the Faculty of Technology of the institution for finding him worthy to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award in recognition of his professional achievement and services to others which brings honour to his Alma mater.
