Maintain sanity in the party – Taju Lawal charges Osun Councillors

…Says current office is a ladder

Osun State Commissioner, Home Affairs has charged Councillors in State of Osun to spare no effort to ensure sanity and health of the Party at their respective wards.

The statement was made when the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Forum of Councillors Osun State Chapter led by the Chairman, Honourable Ismail Fakiyesi  paid a courtesy visit to the Country Home of Osun State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal  to congratulate him on his election as the Osun State APC Deputy Chairman.

Lawal charged them as well not to hesitate “crossing idea, information and visitation with other wards and their colleagues statewide to ascertain if  the party and members are in good stead everywhere towards our goal of ensuring the victory of our dear party, APC, for the re-election of His Excellency Isiaq Gboyega Oyetola on July 16th, 2022.”

He stressed that “the aforementioned effort would surely give them practical report of intactness of our assurances to our benefactor, H/E Oyetola, to return his favour of appointing us in different capacities by being his good ambassador in our constituencies.”

He encouraged them that their current office can be the launch pad towards great political reckoning, based on the quality of their stewardship and results, citing the instance of “our Political Leader, H/E Adebisi Akande, who also began his Political journey as a Councillor.”

On behalf of the councillors forum, Honourable Fakiyesi highlighted the reason for their visitation which he summarised as an inevitable move towards aligning government and politics healthily, while he pointed out that Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal exhibits rare attitude unlike typical big men politicians which he says stands him out among others citing his personal experience with him.

Honourable Fakiyesi, who is a Councillor from Obokun LGA was accompanied by other members of his Executives including his Vice-chairman Hon. Musibau Kilani from Ifelodun LGA, the treasurer Hon. Kilani Kabir from Orolu LGA, Welfare Director Honourable Ogunkanmi Olajide from Olorunda LGA, the PRO 2 Hon. Ajewole Oladapo from Ilesa West, Auditor 2 Hon. Adekunle Ebenezer from Ife East Area Office, Osun East Representative Hon. Ademola Muritala from Ife East, Osun Central Representative Hon. Dina Seyi from Osogbo LGA, and the Financial Secretary Hon. Adewole Tosin from Ife Central LGA.

Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal was warm and welcoming to the forum representativess with his notable lieutenants- Ife East LGA Chairman Honourable Akinwole Akinwale Safiriyu Omilaj, Ife Ooye LCDA Chairman Honourable (Alhaji) Ganiyu Mayowa Egbetunde, Ife East LGA Vice-chairman Honourable Bisi Awowole and NewsDirect Newspapers Publisher, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi- all on hand to welcome the distinguished councillors.

In a remark by Ife Ooye LCDA Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Mayowa Egbetunde, he urged the Councillors to shun ego by extending hands of fellowship to all ranks and interests of the party so that from units and wards in forthcoming Elections especially Osun 2022 Governorship Elections APC would not find it difficult to triumph which shall be based on the political and moral conducts of the councillors since they assumed Office till then.

Ife East LGA Chairman Honourable Akinwole Akinwale Safiriyu Omilaj said the roles of the Councillors in returning Governor Oyetola on July 16th, 2022 is self-help, sacrosanct and he assured them that “the only weapon our Party needs now to win in all subsequent polls is proper alignment in the mould of what the forum have come for.”

Dr Samuel Ibiyemi, NewsDirect Publisher, also saluted the effort of the forum in engineering a formidable entity for the Party to succeed in subsequent elections.

In his address to the forum representatives, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal thanked the group at large and the representatives for deeming it fit to close ranks with the State Executives of the Party.
