Delta govt takes COVID-19 vaccination to state secretariat

The Management of the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA) has intensified the campaign to get Deltans vaccinate Deltans, especially the state workforce in the wake of the state government’s directive that civil servants in the state should avail themselves the opportunity to get vaccinated.

As a result, the agency has deployed personnel to the state Secretariat in Asaba to administer the AstraZeneca vaccine on civil servants working in the secretariat.

When our reporter visited the Secretariat, workers were seen in their numbers eager to receive the vaccine.

One of the officials revealed to this reporter at about 2pm that over 200 workers were already vaccinated while others were on queue waiting for their turn.

The leader of the health officials, Mrs Victoria Jibunor, in a chat, noted that they were deployed to the secretariat to vaccinate civil servants who might be finding it difficult to visit any of the designated centres in Asaba to get vaccinated.

She described the turnout as impressive while expressing the view that with more awareness, many more workers would be vaccinated before Friday.

She advised the workers to take advantage of the presence of the team at the secretariat to get vaccinated.

Some of the workers, who spoke after receiving the jab, expressed joy and advised their colleagues to take advantage and take the vaccine for their own protection.
