The Kaduna State Teachers Service Board has concluded the recruitment of 7,600 teachers to work in secondary schools in the 23 local government councils of the state.
The Executive Chairman of State Teachers Service Board Alhaji Adamu Makadi stated this in Kaduna.
Speaking to Journalists during the week in his office about the just concluded recruitment exercise, Alhaji Makadi revealed that only those who are qualified were given letters of appointment in the concluded exercise.
He added that, “Out of the 43,800 applicants that applied for teaching positions when we opened our portal, 40,135 were invited to write the Computer Based Test (CBT) and 16,569 were successful based on the cut of mark.”
He said that though some applicants had hitches during the CBT due to their inability to properly operate some computers, Alhaji Makadi said that the problems were easily surmounted due to the effective ways designed the Board.
He further said that the Board partnered with critical stakeholders during the screening exercise up to the recruitment of the new teachers.
He concluded that the method adopted by the Board on the selection and recruitment of the teachers is the first of its kind in Nigeria as it was opened and transparent as he urged other states to take a cue from what Kaduna State government had done in the recruitment of teachers.
