Anadu leads Anambra towns’ union in Abuja

The Managing Director (MD), Royal Doors Ltd, Abuja, Chief Arinze Anadu (Nwachinemelu) was recently elected as the President General (PG), Abuja Chapter of Anambra State Towns (People) Association (ASTPA) by the members.

Following the expiration of the Engr Ike Iwenofu – led executives, members on April 2021 elected new executives and the Nwachinemelu emerged as the PG. However, the new PG and his executives were on 25 May sworn – into office and inaugurated by Ikechukwu Ezechukwu SAN and the former Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Simon Okeke, who doubled as the chairman of the occasion at Bolingo Hotels, Abuja.

Those sworn-in and inaugurated along with Anadu were Okechukwu Emmanuel, Festus Agbazue, Michael Okeke for the positions of Vice President, General  Secretary and Assistant General Secretary respectively. The positions of Treasurer, Legal Adviser, Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Social Welfare went to Fabian Obibueze, Matthew Okeke, Chukwuka Ezekwugo and Charles Ifediora respectively. Uche Igwilo, Financial Secretary; Uzo Ezeonwuneme, Assistant Financial Secretary; Nestor Okeke, Provost and; Chidozie Okafor, Ex-Officio.

In a word of advice, the outgoing PG, Engr. Ike Iwenofu enjoined the newly elected executives to not only be effective in the running of the affairs of the Association, but also ensure that they outperform their predecessors. Defending his adbice, Iwenifu said that a good son should outperform his father, even as he added that he knew they would do well.

The Chairman of the occasion, while urging the new executives to ensure that they use their office to do the members, Anambra state and Nd’Igbo proud, he enjoined them to always involve God in their leadership, which if done, according to him would go a long way. He spoke at length on the importance of promoting unity of Nigeria.

Swearing them in, Barr. Ikechukwu Ezechukwu urged them to strictly adhere to the Constitution of the Association and move ASTPA to the next level.

Calling for collaborative efforts among members, the PG informed that in their  agenda, they would: promote transparency, by making accountability top priority; be responsive to the members, by listening to the heart beats of Ndi Anambra; make welfare of members a priority, through legal aids, economic and social wellbeing too; ensure reconciliation of any factions in the Association and; revisit the issue of conducive meeting venue.

Others were encouraging youths and members in skill acquizition; adressing time management and content meeting delivery; attracting the few remaining town unions into ASTPA; maintaining mutal relationship with the government, by interfacing with the Anambra liaison office and other tears of government and; reviewing my the Association’s constitution.

The PG, Ohaneze in Abuja, Barr. Arua commended the association for having been doing Nd’Igbo pround, even as he advised the newly executive to emulate the outgoing executives and sick for advice from them, as old hands in the system.

The event which attracted dignitaries among Anambra and non-Anambra indigenes in attendance had all the PGs. Igbo states in Abuja in attendance.
