Education: Osun begins science competition

As part of efforts to improving Technology in the twenty-first Century, the State Ministry of Education has commenced a Science Competition among public Schools in the State , with a view to identify and groom the brilliant Scientists for national growth.
Speaking on the importance of the competition, the State of Osun Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Bamisayemi disclosed that the competition is apt considering the fact that the World is now a global village, stressing that a society with brilliant technology, inclined minds are forces to reckon with in solving societal various challenges through research.
The phase one of the competition, which is at the local Government level, is expected to produce three hundred and seventy-two best science students who will proceed to the Zonal level, where twelve of them will emerge to compete for the grand prize at the State level.
Giving an insight into how the competition will be run, the Education Commissioner explained that the present administration in the State will ensure all students are captured irrespective of their field of study saying the present administration intend to create future leaders that can compete globally.
He reiterated the commitment of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola led Government to improving the quality of Education as well as assisting the exceptional ones among them to reach the pinnacle of their career.
