Attempted assassination on me will bring a lot of good things – Ortom

… Says his meeting with Buhari was fruitful

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has disclosed that his attempted assassination by Armed Militia Herdsmen recently will bring a lot of good things to Nigeria and Benue State in particular.

” For we the Christians everything work  for good, my attempted assassination will bring a lot of good things to the country”. Ortom maintained.

Ortom also described the meetings   he had with President Muhammadu Buhari  and other service Chiefs of the country as fruitful.

According to Ortom,  they all condemned the act in its entirety and sympathized with him over the incident and have resolved based to Mr. President directive to clear all  banditry and criminal hideouts in the country  with the view to ensure protection of lives and property of citizens which is their core responsibility.

The Governor made the disclosure while fielding questions  from Journalists shortly after he landed the Makurdi Airport from Abuja,  disclosed  that he met with Mr. President, Senate President, Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Director General States Security Services and Inspector General of Police on his recent attempted assassination by Armed Militia Herdsmen.

He urged Nigerians not to politicise the matter  as it was not  partizan, ethnic or religious matter and noted that  what matters most  is the protection of the precious souls of Nigerians and there was every need to  come together and  fight the devil that is troubling the country.

Ortom further stated  that Mr. President has already given a standing order that anyone sight with AK47  anywhere in the country should be shot down.

” The adage which says let us chase away the fox that kill our chicken before we come back to share the killed chicken”. Ortom maintained.
