As part of the efforts to secure quality education for Osun students, the state government through the Ministry of Education has, on Tuesday, sealed off about 23 substandard private schools across the state.

The state government equally notes that it will not relent in its efforts to give quality education to the students because they are the future of the state.

Osun Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin who supervised the closure of the schools said the Oyetola-led administration will ensure that students in the state always get the best in terms of quality education.

Stressing that the state government is determined to produce critical thinkers who can be globally competitive, the commissioner warned that “the “Olubewo” of the Ministry of Education will continue to keep its eyes wide open to fish out more mushroom and substandard private schools.”

Oladoyin advised private schools that are not properly registered with the state’s Ministry of Education to do so as soon as possible, adding that “the government will not condone any act that can sabotage its resolves to give Osun students the best.”

Meanwhile, some of the schools were sealed for various offences which include but are not limited to the following: dirty teaching environment, unqualified teachers, non-renewal of licenses and operating without a licence.

Some of the sealed schools include Hephzibah Kiddies, Ejigbo; Najeemdeen Model Schools, Ejigbo; Favour of God secondary school, Okinni;  Omolara Nursery And Primary School, Iwo among others.
