Horsetrading for Anambra guber begins, as Azubogu, Okonkwo pick PDP nomination form

Political activities have begun in the Wadata Plaza, National secretariat of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) ahead of the Anambra state Gubernatorial election.
Aspirants and supporters, have started visiting the National secretariat to obtain Expression of interest and Nomination Form to qualify them to contest the primaries of the party scheduled for June 26th, 2021.
Among aspirants that have walked the talk in picking their nomination is a third time lawmaker of the lower legislative chamber, Engr. Chris Azugbogu and a business mogul, Dr Obiora Okonkwo.
Engr. Chris Azugbogu who represents Nnewi north, Nnewi south and Ekwusigo federal constitutency of Anambra state is said to be one of the top contenders for the PDP ticket. He has the grassroot support base of the party and is coming with a lot of experience.
Engr. Azubogu, Tuesday receiving his expression of Interest and Nomination forms from the PDP National Organizing Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd.) at Wadata Plaza, Abuja said he is confident of victory and begged the party to elect him to fly their flag saying he has the capacity of winning the state for PDP.
The Anambra state Gubernatorial election 2021 is scheduled for November 6th, 2021. Over twelve aspirants are currently contending for the ticket of the PDP whereas the ruling APC has over eight and APGA has about 7 aspirants with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah positioning as the standard bearer of his party, YPP.
