As Police launch manhunt on criminals

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode has said that all forms of criminal incendiary will be checkmated in all nook and crannies of the State.

This is even as the state police command mount an intensive manhunt to arrest criminals that attacked commuters along Ibokun/Osogbo road.

Recall that on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, around 7:40 pm, a gang of criminals blocked the Ibokun/Osogbo road, along Oja-Tuntun area, Egbeda town in an attempt to kidnap and rob unsuspecting victims.

The incident led to the death of a driver while attempting to manoeuvre and escape the blockade.

The Police had swiftly responded to the distress call, rescuing two other female passengers with bullet wounds by rushing them to a hospital where they are responding to treatment.

A statement released by the Police PRO, Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin, on Wednesday, revealed that the  CP personally led the combined team of security operatives to comb bushes to ensure the perpetrators are arrested.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode, psc in his assiduous task in ensuring that the state is not a haven for criminals; personally led the combined team of Police officers, vigilante and local hunters to comb bushes to ensure the perpetrators are arrested.

“Criminals are warned to have a rethink as the Command has declared total war on unscrupulous elements,”

CP Olokode urged members of the public to support the Police in fighting crime by providing useful and prompt information to the police.
