Man stabs neighbour to death

…as police nab 2 for banditry

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested   a              man for allegedly stabbing his neighbor to death, The police operatives attached also arrested two others for armed robbery.

The murder suspect whose name was given as Sunday Amaefula, was said to have stabbed one Chibuike Nwanne  to death.

In a statement by Lagos Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi which was made available to Nigerian NewsDirect, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police , Mr. Hakeem Odumosu said,  the suspect was living at  8, Akpaku lane, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State. He was arrested on Monday at about 3:am.

The Police boss, said that the suspect earlier had an altercation with the suspect’s brother, one Ifeanyi Emmanuel, before he stabbed the man to death.

“Investigation reveals that the deceased had an altercation with the suspect’s brother, one Ifeanyi Emmanuel, m, his neighbour, before the suspect stabbed him to death with (broken) bottle in their house. The deceased, who got married last year, is survived by his pregnant wife.”

In another development,  the Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers on Monday  at about 5.30pm, around Alakara area of Lagos State.

“The Divisional Police Officer of Alakara and his men on patrol duty intercepted two men on Okada. When a search was conducted on them, two new Beretta pistols with three  magazines and twenty two  live ammunition were recovered from them.”

“The names of the suspects are given simply as  Mojeed  m, 28, and  Kudaisi Ajetumobi ‘m’ 26. The suspects could not give satisfactory explanation on their means of livelihood.”

CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the State CID, Yaba, for proper investigation. While assuring the good people of Lagos State of adequate security of lives and property, Odumosu reiterated the command’s zeal to go after the hoodlums and criminals who disturb the security system of the state.
