Senate President decorates security aides
President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday decorated two of his security aides who were recently promoted by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Ezrel Tabiowo, Special Assistant (Press) to President of the Senate in a statement said the decoration of the officers was carried out at a brief ceremony which held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
Tabiowo said Lawan at the ceremony was assisted by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Sen. Jika Halliru (APC – Bauchi Central).
Also present at the ceremony was the Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate, Babagana Aji.
He said the decorated aides were: Umar Saidu Gajo, who was promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and Olaniyan Mojeed Abidemi, who was promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
According to Tabiowo, while Gajo currently serves as Aide de Camp (ADC) to Lawan, Abidemi serves as his Escort Commander.
He said Abidemi, as commander of the official motorcade of Lawan had recorded a patriotic feat when he saved the lives of five Nigerians involved in an auto crash that occurred along the Onicha-Ugbo-Asaba Expressway in Feb 2020.
