Committee commences sales of form into Nursing, Midwifery schools

The Delta State Common Entrance Examination Committee on Nursing and Midwifery, has commenced the sales of forms and processes of entrance examination into the various state schools of nursing and midwifery.

The courses include Post Basic Nursing Programme for the award of Registered Nurse (R.N.) for 18 months, Basic Midwifery Programme for the award of Registered Midwifery (R.M.) for three years and Certificate Basic Nursing Programme for the award of Registered Nurse (R.N.) Certificate for three years.

A statement signed by the State Director of Information, Mrs Theresa Oliko, said applicants for Post Basic Nursing Programme must have been qualified as registered midwives and the entrance examination holds on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10.00 am prompt at State School of Midwifery, Asaba.

The statement said applicants for Basic Midwifery Programme must be between 17 and 25 years of age and must have five credits at SSCE/WASC O/L. NECO in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry at not more than two sittings, with entrance exam holding on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

For the Basic Nursing Programme, the statement said applicants must also be between 17 and 25 years of age and must have five credits at SSCE/WASC O/L. According to the statement, the examinations for both Post Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery will hold at State School of Midwifery Asaba that of Basic Nursing holds at Federal College of Education Technical, along Ibusa Raod, Asaba with all examinations starting at 10. 00 am prompt.

It said all applicants should obtain forms for the respective courses at any of the State Schools of Nursing in Warri, Agbor and Eku, and State Schools of Midwifery in Asaba and Sapele with enclosed receipt of payment and two passport photographs (with white background) routed through the principal of the school of applicant’s choice.

The statement said the form cost a non-refundable fee of N10, 000.00 (ten thousand naira) only, payable to Ministry of Health, Department of Nursing and Midwifery at any Bank: Zenith Bank with account number 1015649624.

It advised applicants to bring along with them writing materials and photocopy of their filled forms.
