692 new Education Officers assume duties in Oyo

No fewer than 692 newly recruited Education Officers in Oyo State on Monday assumed duties in different Unity Schools and Technical Colleges in the state.

Mrs Aminat Atere, the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, made this known in a statement in Ibadan.

Atere emphasised the commitment of the ministry toward enhancing qualitative education in the state.

“The new employees assumed duty today, the beginning of a new session, after successful completion of all necessary documentations at the ministry’s headquarters in the Secretariat.

“Their assumption of duty marks successful completion of their documentation as Education Officers in Oyo State Civil Service,” she said.

Atere commended Gov. Seyi Makinde for his prompt approval and support for the recruitment process.

He, therefore, urged the new employees to reciprocate the good gestures of the state government by contributing positively to the development of the state Education Sector.

The permanent secretary said that the official induction and training would come up soon.

She urged them to always be punctual, diligent, disciplined and to recognise authority and organogram in their offices.

Meanwhile, both public and private schools in Oyo State resumed for the 2021/2022 academic session amidst strict COVID-19 safety protocol.

In some of the schools visited by the Newsmen in Ibadan, most schools enforced strict compliance with the COVID-19 Protocols.

The students were screened with infrared thermometre to check temperature and provided handwashing facilities and sanitisers.
