5 graduate with First Class Degrees in Chrisland University

Five gradaunds of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, will at the institution’s 3rd convocation ceremony be awarded First Class Honours, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Babalola has said.

Babalola, disclosed this at a news conference held on Monday at the institution, adding that 30 other students who finished with Second Class Upper Division would also receive their awards at the convocation slated for Wednesday.

The vice chancellor said that a female student from the Department of Criminology and Security Studies, Martha Kave, emerged overall Best Graduating Student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.98.

Babalola, a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, recalled that the institution which took off with just seven students in 2016 had grown with more students, adding that 44 graduands would participate in the convocation.

According to her, the feat recorded at Chrisland University was attributable to the `stick and carrot approach’ adopted by the management of the institution in dealing particularly with the moral training of students.

The vice chancellor listed some activities lined up for the convocation to include public lecture by the keynote speaker, inauguration of two completed projects and the naming of the female hostel.

Babalola stated that the graduands would be allowed to invite only two guests into the graduation hall, adding that COVID-19 precautionary measures would be observed.

“Anytime we returned from vacation, we carry out COVID-19 test on our students’’, she said.
