48 students bag first class at Elizade University

A total of 48 students are to receive the First Class Degree certificate of the Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state during its combined 4th and 5th convocation ceremonies to be held at the institution’s event centre on Friday.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olukayode Amund, stated this at the weekend while addressing journalists at a pre-convocation press briefing.
According to him, a total of 413 students would be graduating from the university in the convocation ceremonies.
Giving the breakdown, Prof. Amund said, “a total of 413 students would be graduating, 48 students finished with first-class, 184 had second class (upper), 163 with second class (lower ) while 18 students bagged third class.”
Amund also disclosed that the convocation lecture, titled, “Does Nigeria’s Development Cap-fit the Nigerian University System,” would be delivered by the former Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Peter Okebukola on Thursday at the faculty of law auditorium.
Speaking on the accredited programmes of the institution, the VC said, “Elizade University has continued to reap the rewards of its compliance with regulatory policies. All programmes offered by the University are fully accredited by the NUC and other relevant professional bodies. Recently, the Law programme was accredited by the Commission, while six other programmes were re-accredited.”
He, posited that the University has also developed an Automated Temperature Scanner and a GSM-based Energy Meter, a project that was sponsored by the National Communications Commission (NCC), among others.
The don, who also spoke on the institution’s collaboration with international institutions for the training of their students said, Elizade University has signed a good number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with some reputable institutions of higher learning across the world.
While appreciating the support of the Founder of the institution, Chief. Michael Ade-Ojo, the VC said, a good number of projects have been executed by the University in the last two years.
He, however, called on the government at all levels to always support the private universities across the states.
