
Job Title: Business Development Executive
Location: Ogba, Lagos (with regular field visits and travel)
Salary Range: ₦100,000 – ₦150,000 (plus target-based commission)
Job Summary:
Nigerian NewsDirect is seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Executive to lead client acquisition, build strong partnerships, and champion special event management efforts. This role is ideal for a result-oriented professional who thrives on field engagement, closing deals, and driving growth through strategic relationship building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Sourcing & Acquisition: Identify and secure new clients, advertisers, and sponsors for the publication and its events.
- Partnership Development: Build and manage relationships with strategic partners, government agencies, corporates, and industry stakeholders.
- Physical Roadwork: Conduct regular offline visits to clients, prospects, and partner organizations; attend relevant exhibitions, expos, or trade shows.
- Event Sourcing & Management:
- Source and propose potential events for Nigerian NewsDirect participation or hosting.
- Lead special event planning and execution—sponsorships, media partnerships, logistics, and post-event reporting.
- Target Achievement: Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly BD targets (revenue, client onboarding, partnership deals).
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all sales, leads, prospects, and partnership activities; submit regular reports to the COO and CEO.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with editorial, marketing, and operations teams to align BD efforts with overall company goals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, client servicing, or event management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with frequent travel, offline client engagement, and fieldwork.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on delivering results.
Bonus Qualities:
● Existing network in media, PR, corporate, or government sectors.
- Prior experience with managing large-scale events or sponsorship campaigns.
