4 security guards docked for alleged theft in Ogun

Four security guards were on Wednesday brought before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly attempting to steal aluminum products valued at N2.5 million.

The police charged the defendants: Adekanbi Kabiru, 37, Onuh Isaac, 27, Jonathan Udoh, 33, and Solomon Adah, 32, with attempted stealing and conspiracy.

The prosecutor, Insp. E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendants and others still at large, committed the offences on March 11 at Lloyds Aluminum Industry, Opposite All-Over Polytechnic, Ota.

Adaraloye said the defendants, security guards at Lloyds Industry, attempted to steal some aluminum products valued at N2.5 million.

He said the offences contravened Sections 509 and 516 of the Criminal Code Caps C38, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

They defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi, admitted the defendants to N50, 000 bail each with one surety in like sum.

Adeyemi oredered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed, with evidence of tax payment to Ogun government.

She adjourned the case until April 29 for judgment.
