39th convocation: 256 bag first-class as UNILORIN graduates 12,042 students

The University of Ilorin is set to graduate a total of 12,042 students at its 39th convocation ceremony, which includes 256 First Class degree holders.

This announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, during a press briefing held at the university auditorium on Thursday, 17th October 2024.

Prof. Egbewole emphasised that the convocation ceremony would mark a significant milestone in the university’s academic journey, as graduates from various disciplines, including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine, would be awarded degrees.

“The 39th Convocation Ceremonies shall witness the graduation of 12,042 students across various faculties, including 256 First Class graduates. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff,” he stated.

Also, 1,875 higher degrees will be awarded, including 323 Ph.Ds, 1,280 Masters, and 92 Postgraduate Diplomas.

The Vice Chancellor commended the university community for maintaining academic excellence while adapting to changes.

Prof. Egbewole outlined several innovations aimed at improving service delivery and academic processes.

“The University of Ilorin has made remarkable progress in its digital transformation journey, which has enhanced efficiency, security, and accessibility in our operations,” he said.
