The police, on Monday, brought a 39-year-old man, Ishola Ishola, before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly inflicting injuries on a couple and damaging the headlamp of their motorbike.
The defendant was arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy, assault, willful damage and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Insp Jonah Iseghede, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 26, at 5.20 pm. at No. 6, Freeman St., Ebute Meta.
He said that the defendant assaulted the complainant, Mr Uchenna Igboekwu and his wife, Chinyere, by stabbing them with a bottle all over their bodies.
”Ishola also damaged the headlamp of the Igboekwus’ unregistered motorcycle, stole an Infinix phone, Itel phone and cash, all valued at N482,000,” he said.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 173, 287, 350 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Akinde, granted Ishola bail in the sum of N50, 000, with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case till April, for mention.
