3 years after, Salu of Edunabon gets staff of office

Edunabon town in Ife North West Local Council Development Area of Osun State was agog as the State governor, Gboyega Oyetola presented the Staff of Office to the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Oladepo Olatunde Kehinde (JP).

Speaking at the event held inside the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abere, Oyetola, commended the people for ensuring peace in the ancient town after three years of tussle that heralded the announcement of Oba Oladepo.

The governor who was represented by the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Adeosun Rasaki noted that peace is necessary to enable his administration to bring in adequate development to the area.

Oyetola, however, urged the monarch to rule his people with the fear of God and consult widely on any decision he wishes to take so that they would all have a sense of belonging.

In his remarks, Oba Oladepo thanked the governor, his subjects; both at home and in the diaspora for standing by him since November 2018 that he was appointed as the new Salu of Edunabon.

Oba Oladepo assured them of a new dawn in the town, thereby calling on them to join hands with him in his bids of making Edunabon a great place among the comity of towns in the state.

For those they contested the stool together, Oba Oladepo said he has taken many reconciliation steps for peace to reign, notably among which was the withdrawal of arson case filed against them.

The monarch, who stressed that there can be no progress or development in the atmosphere of chaos, urged them to come together and bring their brilliant ideas to the table as they all have no other place to call theirs aside Edunabon.
