2nd term re-election victory: Abiodun, Sanwo-Olu to exceed expectation of electorate — Debasco

Following the collection of certificate of return of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Babajide Sanwo-Olu by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a former Federal Board Member, Benin- Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), Otunba (Dr) Babatunde Onakoya (DeBasco) has assured residents of Lagos and Ogun that both Governors will exceed their expectation during their second term administration.

He spoke to Nigerian NewsDirect in excitement of crowd that witnessed the certificate of return presentation to both Governors in Lagos and Ogun State yesterday.

According to him, “Direct interaction with the Governors revealed that several infrastructures, laudable projects have been listed and to be executed within the next four years.”

He noted that the two states are lucky to have the best Governors in Nigeria following the strict screening process initiated by leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) selection of governorship candidates.

Otunba therefore implored all politicians, businessmen and other stakeholders to support administration of the two Governors.

“Sanwo-Olu  and Dapo Abiodun are exemplary leaders, God-fearing and men of their words and promise keeper.

“There have been lot of goals recorded during  heir first tenure some of which are: Infrastructural development, education, health sector, social amenities among others.”

However, DeBasco enjoined every residents of both states to anticipate success and a renewed government that will enhance more developmental projects.

For instance, he explained that the excellent performance of Governor Abiodun in Ogun State made   15 governorship candidates of Inter Party Advisory Council to endorse the re-election of Governor Abiodun and attended the presentation of the Certificate of Return to him by the INEC. He added that huge expenditure on rail and agro airport in Lagos and Ogun State have created jobs for youth and  still employing new staff.

Recall that both Governors were returned as the winner of the March 19, 2023 gubernatorial on Sunday.

Abiodun polled 276,298 to defeat his closest rivals — Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 262,383 as well as Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who got 94,754 votes and who had the backing of former Governor and serving APC Senator, Ibikunle Amosun.

Governor Abiodun Adedapo Oluseun of APC satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned election.

In the same vein,  Sanwo-Olu scored 762,134 to defeat both the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidates, Rhodes-Vivour, and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor – they polled 312,329 and 62,449 respectively.
