23yr-old boy lures 10yr-old boy with sweet for anal sex in Bauchi – Police

The Bauchi State Police Command has said that its operatives attached to Operation Restore Peace (ORP) arrested one Sanusi Umar, 23 years old on 28th March for raping and having anal sex with a 10-year-old boy.

According to a statement released on Wednesday morning by the Command’s Spokesman, Ahmed Wakil, the suspect lured the minor with N30 sweet and asked the minor boy to accompany him to an isolated area along Kofar Ran to defecate.

“After the defecation, the suspect asked the victim to remove his trousers. He wanted to see whether he cleaned his anus. Upon removing his trousers, the suspect also removed his own trousers, grabbed the victim from the back and had carnal knowledge with him. The victim rushed to the manager of a filling station nearby and informed him that the said suspect had carnal knowledge with him,” he explained.

Wakil said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect hails from Jingino village, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa state. He came to Bauchi state about two years ago, hawking garden eggs at a filling station along Kofar Ran, Bauchi. It is also revealed that the suspect took advantage of the “unsound mental condition of the victim to perpetrate the crime.”

He said that Police took the victim to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi along with the suspect, where different tests were conducted on him to determine his health status. “The investigation is still in progress, the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

He said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed urged parents, guardians and leaders with influence to prevail on their wards and proteges to shy away from crime. He assured the people of Bauchi State of his unrelenting commitment towards maintaining an aggressive stance against all forms of crime and criminality in the state.
